Tim ConnorTim Connor is a writer and national award-winning investigative reporter with a wide range of experience in research, writing, and editing on complex issues from public finance to environmental epidemiology. He specializes in research on environmental science and regulation and has considerable experience with air, water, and groundwater pollution problems and regulatory issues. Connor has been awarded three Sigma Delta Chi first place national awards for investigative reporting as well as awards from the National Press Club and the Society of Professional Journalists, Western Washington Chapter.

In the late 1990’s, Connor founded and was the editorial director for the Northwest Environmental Education foundation, a nonprofit corporation devoted to research and public education on regional environmental and environmental health issues. Earlier, he was a staff researcher for the Energy Research Foundation, responsible for public interest research focusing on environmental contamination from nuclear weapons production and testing and the public health consequences of exposures to radiation and hazardous chemicals. He has served on national advisory committees to the US Department of Energy, the US Environmental Protection Agency, and the US Department of Health and Human Services. He chaired a key subcommittee to the federal Advisory Committee on Energy-Related Epidemiologic Research.

Since 2004, Connor has worked as a contract writer, researcher, and editor with a focus on environmental, regulatory, and conservation issues. He is currently the communications director and the open government project coordinator for the Center for Justice, a non-profit law firm in Spokane.
Connor earned his BA in Communications (Journalism) at Washington State University. His published books include Burdens of Proof: Science and Public Accountability in the Field of Environmental Epidemiology (1997), Secret Deal (2000), and Under the Influence: Spokane, The Cowles Family and River Park Square (2002), with Larry Shook.
