Rick Garcia is the Director of Mission Support Contractor Shared Services and Property Management for CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company. He has over 25 years in operations and nuclear decommissioning and construction management with the U.S. Department of Energy, including experience at the Rocky Flats Plant and Closure Project and Washington Savannah River Company. He oversaw deactivation, decommissioning and construction activities including worker training, leading Integrated Safety Management improvement efforts, and project management.
Garcia’s areas of expertise include nuclear deactivation and decommissioning, rigging and cranes, construction management, contract management, and work controls. He has extensive experience in high hazard radioactive and contaminated environments. Garcia also brings his knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Compliance, and Conduct of Operations.
Garcia graduated from the Denver Institute of Technology and has additional education in management development, hazardous waste operations, configuration control authority qualification, comprehensive rigging, and metallurgic operations.
