Ed
Kennedy is a senior manager with over 30 years of experience in
program and project management, technical, research, and general
management of operations, as well as closure activities, cleanup,
and decontamination and decommissioning of commercial and DOE nuclear
facilities. He has managed multifaceted work at numerous commercial
uranium mining and milling facilities, including the country’s
largest uranium facility and, for the last 15 years, numerous DOE
Complex facilities, including HQ’s Environmental Restoration
program.
For the past six years, he has been responsible for program level
and field operations projects at the Hanford Tank Farms with staffs
of over 100 personnel including exempt and non-exempt employees,
as well as bargaining unit members. In his various areas of responsibility,
he has managed programs and contracts with budgets in excess of
$100M.
Kennedy has been recognized for his ability in all
aspects of management, in particular his abilities to facilitate
the successful
resolution of difficult conflicts or issues between individuals,
as well as within and between organizations. He has utilized his
conflict resolution skills with workers, as well as at the executive
management level, including DOE facility and headquarters staff
and management. He is highly regarded for his ability to balance
conflicting interests and to find mutually successful resolutions.
He is committed to innovation in technology research and development
and program improvement through self evaluation. His expertise
in streamlining processes and work activities in a safe and open
work environment where workers are integrally involved in identifying
and implementing the improvement opportunities has contributed
to his success as a manager.
