Among the unique features of the Hanford Concerns Council are an up-front agreement with participating companies to implement the Council’s recommended resolutions, except under extraordinary circumstances, and the ability to immediately stabilize a situation that is in danger of escalating.

Direct access to senior company officials and the ability to obtain professional opinions from neutral technical and medical experts allow for resolutions that are both timely and mutually agreeable. Through this approach, resources are better spent on job preservation and resolving safety issues.

Current participating companies of the Hanford Concerns Council are CH2M HILL Hanford and Washington Closure Hanford.

"Cleaning up the Hanford site is risky business. Many of the cleanup challenges we face are unknown, which means protecting the health and safety of our workers is our first priority. Offering this additional avenue to our employees when they feel their concerns may not be adequately addressed through normal channels is a positive step for everyone.”
- Chuck Spencer, President, Washington Closure Hanford
