Confidentiality

14. If an employee can’t count on anonymity, can they count on confidentiality?

Yes. The Council operates on a confidential basis to the extent allowable by law. Council members and staff, who are each bound by confidentiality pledges and rules, will share all information they receive with other Council members in an effort to promote resolution.

The Charter agreement between the company and Hanford Challenge specifies that confidentiality will be respected and that materials generated by the Council’s process will not be sought by either party. The mediation agreement that the Council asks the contractor and the employee to sign before the assessment and resolution activities begins provides additional confidentiality protection for both parties under RCW 5.60.070.
